Meet the Publishers
Classic Lit Press is the literary lovechild of Michael and Lynn Borich, retired college professors united by a lifelong passion for great books and the stories that endure.
The Story
Chapter One: The First Book
Their publishing journey began years ago while they were still in college. Working in a print shop, Lynn learned the craft of book design, layout, offset printing, and binding.
Together they created their very first publication—Visions 3— a handcrafted collection featuring Michael's poetry, original songs by a friend, and black-and-white photography by another.
Producing 500 hand-bound copies was a true labor of love and the beginning of a dream.
Chapter Two: A Life of Literature
Life soon took them on an adventure of its own. Raising two sons, pursuing graduate degrees, and teaching across the country—from Iowa and California to Wisconsin, Florida, and ultimately the Missouri Ozarks—meant that independent publishing would have to wait.
Along the way, they taught writers of every age, from elementary school students to nursing home residents through a National Endowment for the Arts grant, spent two years teaching at Qingdao University in China, and devoted twenty-five years to Missouri State University.
Throughout their careers, Michael and Lynn wrote books, hosted television and radio programs celebrating books and authors, and encouraged generations of students to discover the world's great literature.
Chapter Three: Classic Lit Press
Today, Classic Lit Press brings that lifelong passion full circle. Through beautifully illustrated editions of timeless classics, original works they hope will become tomorrow's classics, thoughtful reflections on literature, and a daily celebration of poetry, Michael and Lynn invite readers to rediscover the joy of great books.
